Going out of town on business is a chance to close on a great deal, and at the same time, allows you to explore new places. One Friday a month, we’ll take a look at recommended places from a few of our colleagues. This week we’ll start with some places along the east coast… The three places brought to the forefront today are Matchbox, Rey’s, and Trenton Social Club. To keep pace with places we’re recommending, visit our Pinterest page @ pinterest.com/Saleslink.
Matchbox has a lively atmosphere with all of the classic items of American cuisine. Whether you’re stopping by quickly for their famous mini cheeseburgers and onion straws or sitting down for an entrée like the House-Cut Ribeye, Matchbox and their friendly staff is able to cater to your wishes.
They have six locations throughout the United States – three in Washington DC, and others in Rockville, MD, Fairfax, VA and Palm Springs, CA. All of the east coast locations have brunch from 10am-3pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
Founded in 2004, Rey’s in Cary, NC offers a continental menu of New Orleans-inspired dishes coining the phrase, “Fine Dining with a French Quarter Flare.” While they don’t have multiple locations, this quiet and relaxed atmosphere does just fine. Owner A. Rey Arias has done an exceptional job and attributes the success to hard work and dedication from his staff.
Appetizers include the N’awlins Crab Cakes with bell peppers clad with garlic-lime butter, Crabmeat Cocktail and the Shrimp Orleans. For dinner, folks can feast on a variety of options including many great cuts of steak, French Quarter Chicken stuffed with an herbed cheese and topped with lemon beurre blanc, as well as the Herb Crusted Atlantic Salmon.
Trenton Social located in Trenton, NJ is an up-and-coming spot with a great environment and an outdoor patio for food, drinks, and entertainment. They hold an event called First Friday each month in which they have an art exhibit set up on the premises. Guest Chef Night is also a big hit with the crowd. The very casual yet trendy mood at the bar embraced the music of the DJ playing Marvin Gaye!
For starters you can nosh on their chicken wings, mac & cheese balls, and fresh salads. Their menu is not very lengthy but has some solid meals like the Blackened Salmon, Shrimp Carte Veja and sandwiches like their Social Burger and Fillet Mignon Sandwich.
